Information – back online
Author: jereme
-Just so you know; there will be broken links, stuff that doesn’t work, things that don’t look great. Let me know. It’s new. I’m not smart. I are mistakes ‘n stuff.
So Code-wod has been offline for a few months. We’re back. What better way to celebrate wod 500? That’s a lot. I’m proud of code-wod and I’m proud of all the people who’ve participated in the workouts.
There are quite a few changes.
One notable change is in the workout of the day. There is no warm up described in the post. Coming soon is an article on how to warm up. There’re quite a few reasons I’ve stopped writing warm ups.
- It takes longer than it does to create a workout
- I find that most people only do their own warm up or none at all.
- You know how to get yourself ready for a workout.
More Changes:
You’ll find there is now a blog style comment section. Instead of your scores being recorded in a spread sheet style type of form, it’s now simply within your comment on the workout. You’re free to comment on the workout, enter your score, or comment on others performance. I feel this has several benefits. For one, it has a less competitive feel. I believe the ones who’re interested in being competitive will use it that way, but the ones who aren’t, are less intimidated by the structure of a blog versus the spreadsheet style.
Next, everything will be searchable from this point forward. The links to the previous wods are still good, you can connect to my google drive and view them. Provided you have the link. If you do not, and you’d like to have it, please contact me. Going forward, you may use the search icon on the top bar to look for articles and wods.
Last, if you’d like to contribute please let me know. With this new build, it’s possible for anyone to have a simple log-in and create wods or articles. I’d appreciate contributors. This 3rd version of code-wod contains somewhere in the vicinity of 10,000 lines of custom code and a total of around 200,000 lines of code. To compare the first two versions combine had less than 5,000 lines of code.
I receive zero compensation from any of this. It cost me time and money. But it’s worth it. So please contribute. Please enter a score or at a minimum and comment about the wod. In the end it helps me to create content.
